Setting up minicom has always caused me hastle... follow these steps:
- install minicom with your favourite package manager
$ yum install minicom - add any users that want to make use of serial ports to the
dialout,lockanduucpgroup (on Fedora 12.0) - to configure minicom use
$ minicom -s [config]this will not open the port - set all
/etc/minirc.*files with groupdialoutand permissions of 664 - for a serial port, not a modem, enter
minicom configuration -> modem and dialingand clear fields A-L
