Create a CPIO archive

find . | cpio -oH newc > ../myfs.cpio

View the files in an .rpm file

rpm2cpio myrpmfile.rpm | cpio -it

Extract the files from an .rpm file

rpm2cpio myrpmfile.rpm | cpio -idmv
